Seating chart, escort cards, & place cards
Let’s start off Wednesday with a little tutorial, shall we?
A seating chart is a list of all guests’ names along with their table assignments. (Hint: It’s best to do this alphabetically unless you have a very small guest list.)

Escort cards are individual cards per guest (sometimes per couple) that list each guest’s table assignments. It’s also best to set these up alphabetically.
Place cards are individual name cards that designate a guest’s seat at the table.

Typically you would include either a seating chart or escort cards to help guests find their tables. Obviously, escort cards require additional materials but they can also double up as favors (you can include your favors with name tags and table assignments) which can be handy. Place cards can be used in conjunction with either a seating chart or escort cards if you’d like to designate a specific seat at the table for your guests. Sometimes I suggest couples do this for the head table (e.g., if you want to seat your maid of honor and best man closest to the bride and groom, etc.).
And that concludes our lesson for today. Any questions?
